We're off to Bogota ...

  ... sometime this fall!

Location:
Colombia is located in the north-west corner of South America.

Borders: Colombia is bordered by Panama to the north, Equador, Peru and Brazil to the south and Venezuela to the west.

Area: About 2x the size of Texas and 25x the size of Switzerland

Coastline: 3200 km, which is great if we can get to it!

Population: 44,000,000

Religion: Catholic 90+%

Language: Spanish

Voltage System: 110v
(which means we will have to buy all new things ... again)

Vehicles: The driving is on the right side, but we will sell our car and get an SUV with 4WD.

Golf: There are 25 golf courses within an hours drive ... but I don't know if they are open to the general public.

Biking: There are many bike trails throughout the city.  On Sundays they close many roads to allow walking, biking and rollerblading.

Misc: The people are reported to have high work ethics, as the country doesn't have many natural resources

Problems: Poverty is quite widespread, so crime will be a problem.  Common sense will have to be used at all times.

Capital =  Bogota
which has 8+ million people (wow!)

Terrain: Bogota is located on a flat savannah ... with mountains along some sides.

Elevation: This is the most unique feature, as it's at 2600 meters or 8500 feet ... whew!
Note to Golfers: That means the balls will fly 15% farther  :)

Weather:
The temperatures will be constant, since we'll be close to the equator.  At such a high altitude though, it will always be cool ... to give you an idea of what that means, the highest temperature ever recorded there was only 25C / 77F ... brrr!

Centigrade                High & Low temps                  Fahrenheit

Rainfall: There are two rainy seasons per year .. and it can rain a lot!
It's pretty obvious when we will be planning trips out of the country.

We happen to like living in Israel, but Bogota doesn't look too bad ... more later!
